Energizing face mask

If you know me you know that I consider self care part of the ritual to feel better about yourself. Too many times we treat ourselves with sugary “treats”, that more often than not are only mis-treating us further.

I love making this mask once a week to refresh my skin. It helps with enlarged pores, inflammation, and simply energizing the skin.

This green clay face mask can be made with green clay, a liquid, and other ingredients like essential oils, honey, or fruit extracts. The mask can be applied to clean skin and left on for 10–15 minutes before rinsing.

Ingredients

  • 1½ tsp French green clay

  • ½ tsp kaolin clay

  • 1½ tbsp aloe vera gel

  • 1 tbsp rose water

  • 2 drops rose essential oil or an acne-reducing essential oil (optional)

Mix the green and kaolin clays in a glass or plastic bowl.

Add the aloe vera gel, rose water, and any other oils and combine.

Apply to the skin and let sit for 10-15 minutes, or until the clay has dried. Rinse with a warm, steamy washcloth.
